Background
Jonathan has worked in ELT for 25 years as an English teacher, teacher trainer and curriculum/materials writer, working with both children and adults. He is a consultant for Cengage/National Geographic Learning UK. With MAs in Applied Linguistics/TESOL and Arabic and Islamic Studies, he specialises in educational reform programmes in North Africa and the Middle East, working with teachers, educational institutions and Ministries of Education. Jonathan is particularly interested in the challenges of teaching English to large, multilevel classes and is passionate about ensuring the teaching of English remains relevant to the needs and aspirations of 21st century learners. Jonathan last delivered a series of workshops in Bahrain in 2016, exploring strategies for teaching academic writing, and he is delighted to be invited back.
