Higher education foundation programs are a pivotal stepping stone towards a successful university education. These programs are significant in preparing students with an academic skills set to excel throughout their academic years at tertiary level. In the current globalized and digitalized world, technologies emerge rapidly. In order to keep abreast with the changes, educational institutions offering ELT courses in foundation programs need to embrace innovative strategies in teaching and learning curricula, resources development, delivery modes and assessment methods.

The English Language Center (ELC) at the University of Bahrain is committed to creating a leading edge in its Foundation Program. The ELC will host the 2nd International Conference on Foundation Programs entitled Foundation Programs: Innovation and Technology “Shaping the Future of ELT”. The conference aims to create an international platform for practitioners of foundation and ELT programs to explore new ideas and acquire innovative approaches regarding the integration of technologies in the forms of plenary sessions, paper presentations, panel discussions, workshops and poster presentations.

Call for Abstracts

The English Language Center ( ELC) invites presenters to submit proposals for its Second  International Conference on Foundation Programs to be held in Bahrain, April 19-20,  2019. Proposals for the presentations are expected to address the conference theme:

Poster Presentation Format

Poster presenters will be allocated a time slot within the main conference venue to model through a poster exhibition.
Conference participants will also be able to view displays at their leisure during session breaks, therefore the content of the poster must be self-explanatory.
Materials to hang poster presentations will be provided by the conference committee.
Presentations should be A0 ( 841mm x 1189 mm; orientation: portrait) made up of maximum __3  sheets
