    Omar has taught English at the International School for Foundation Studies at the University of Malta for 8 years. He is currently working on a series of Medical English textbooks.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Sevgi CAN
    Sevgi CAN has been teaching English at language departments of reputable universities in Turkey for 18 years. During her career, she also served at different positions as curriculum developer, teacher trainer, level coordinator.

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Dr. Sherif El-Eraki
    Dr. Sherif El-Eraki comes from a strong academic background in communication engineering, where he started his University education at the young age of 13 and completed his PhD in Communication Engineering from the University of Kent in UK at the age of 22.  During the course of his PhD, he developed novel mobile telecommunication algorithms that were published in internationally refereed journals and conferences.  After a career in technology and engineering, his combined passions for education and technology led him to specialise in Digital Transformation for Education.  He currently  leads the digital transformation in Education for Microsoft gulf. Works closely with academic institutions within the GCC to support them with embracing disrupting technology and new ways of teaching and  learning to fulfil  Microsoft’s vision of empowering students today to be the creators of tomorrow. 

     

     

     

     

     

    Norhan Ahmed Abdel-Rahman
    Norhan Ahmed Abdel-Rahman, Director of The Centre for General Studies at the Royal University for Women in Bahrain, has been an English Lecturer since 2005. Ms. Norhan has received her MA in TESOL from the American University in Cairo. She has been teaching adult English learners in the region for more than seven years. She is a dedicated instructor who strives to meet the needs of her students and accommodate their different learning styles. Her classes are very student-centered and she has an excellent rapport with her students creating an atmosphere of respect and support. In addition to teaching, Ms. Norhan has been involved in conducting research. Her passion for teaching makes her interested in research and education quality assurance. She has presented a number of research papers in international conferences; TESOL Arabia 2015, TESOL international 2016 and RUW conference on “Women and Society” 2016.

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Carolyn Doyle
    Carolyn Doyle joined the Polytechnic in 2011 as an English Tutor. She became Co-Programme Manager of the Foundation Programme in 2012 and has been Head of School, Foundation since 2013 which includes the Foundation Programme, Electives Programme and the Certificate in Tertiary Teaching and Learning. She is currently undertaking a PhD in Educational Research, Higher Education at the University of Lancaster, UK.

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Tony Gurr
    Tony Gurr is a seasoned teacher, trainer, consultant - and learner. He draws on his wide range of ‘hands-on’ experience in schools, colleges and higher education institutions in the UK, Middle East, the US, Australia, and Türkiye.
    A popular workshop facilitator / keynote presenter, Tony is well-known for his creative and thought-provoking sessions with educators and trainee teachers. He has also worked on a series of major learning and teaching transformation initiatives, managed innovative curriculum and assessment renewal projects, and led a range of quality and institutional effectiveness programmes over his 30+ years in ELT and education.

    Tony consults for a wide range of institutions, supports the development of in-house CPD programmes and mentors specialist / leadership teams across the region. He holds a PGCE, CELTA, RSA Dip. TEFLA, M.Sc., M.Ed., and MBA. He is passionate about all forms of student, teacher andinstitutional learning.

    Abubaker AlHitty
    Abubaker has been teaching English/Linguistics at the English Language Centre at the University of Bahrain for twelve years. He holds an MA in Translation from the University of Salford. He has developed many online websites and online tests that served the students’ language development and independent learning skills. His current research interests includes e-Learning & e-Testing.

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Biljana Davceva
    Biljana has been teaching English/Linguistics for twenty-three years. Before joining the University of Bahrain in 2003, she spent the previous eight years working as an English Language lecturer at the ‘Mihailo Apostolski’ Military Academy and Command and Staff College in Skopje, Macedonia. She holds a MEd in TESOL (Overall Distinction) from the University of Leeds, and a BA in English Language & Literature (1st Class Honours) from the Ss Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Macedonia. Her current research interests includes language assessment, standardized tests (Cambridge Assessment and IELTS) and teacher/examiner training.

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Shaban Aldabbus
    Shaban Aldabbus has Ph.D in Education from Newcastle University. He is currently an Assistant professor in the English Language Education at the Bahrain Teachers College. His areas of interest are Methodology in ELT, Teaching Young Learners and Curriculum Design.

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Kate Tindle
    Kate has been a teacher at Zayed University in the UAE since 2010. She has also taught at universities in Japan and Oman and at institutes in Tunisia and Turkey. She has a Masters in Applied Linguistics and TESOL and the Delta, and has recently become a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She is very interested in finding ways to encourage and motivate students to read more, and was closely involved in the implementation of the extensive reading program at Zayed University. She is currently involved in conducting research into the effects of the extensive reading program on student motivation to read.

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Anna Hasper
    Anna is an ELT teacher and teacher development specialist based in Dubai. She has worked in education for over 15 years for the British Council, International House, IDP IELTS and National Geographic. She’s a self-confessed addict to learning and is passionate about enabling teachers to enhance effective learning in the classroom. Anna regularly presents, writes articles and blog posts and delivers a variety of Cambridge accredited teacher training courses around the world. Her special interests are teacher development, educational psychology and enhancing effective learning.

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Emma Pathare
    Emma has worked in the field of English Language Teaching since 1995 in Europe and the Middle East. Her roles have included English teacher, CELTA and Trinity TESOL trainer, Cambridge and IELTS Examiner. and IELTS Examiner Trainer. She has also written several ELT books and resources for ministries and major publishers. Her current post as GCC Field Editor with NGL encompasses a diverse range of tasks, from meeting with ministries, to writing and reviewing materials, to accompanying photographers on sunrise fishing trips.
